If a text or html file is edited with the internal document editor in a new window, the document is locked before it is opened. This is done using the same lock mechanism as when someone manually locks the document in the metadata.
This leads to unwanted problems:
- Text documents can be opened several times in different windows in edit mode. (Does not affect html files.)
- After a restart of OpenOlat, the document is still locked, although it is no longer being edited. The user has to unlock it manually (even though it was locked automatically).
To solve this problem a new lock type is introduced (similar to WebDAV, Collborative editors). This kind of lock is not persisted.
