Technically, menu items are positioned absolute to render on top of other things. The problem is though, that the content area behind the absolute positioned element is not aware of the popup and might be too small.
Although the popup is rendered above the content, it is still limited by the dimensions of the container. When the container is too small, the popup will be cut.
This issue is about fixing this problem by extending the framework accordingly.
Known places where this problem happens:
- Help admin menu when no help items are defined
- Document course element in the course editor when selecting a document editor to create a document
- EduSharing course element when displaying the metadata an OER resource
- Auto-completer (only special cases where there is not enough space)
