In the task course element participants hand a document. The document is reviewed and then returned with some comments. This is the process how it was designed.
In practice however there are some caveats:
- handing in a document is optional, returning one seems odd just to give a feedback
- adding the comments to the documents adds extra effort to the process. Sometimes a general remark should be made, there is no need to return a commented document at all
- when the handing-in process is just an intermediate hand-in e.g. of the draft version, the participant usually keeps working while the coach gives some feedback. When the feedback is part of the document the student must then merge his version with the returned version.
To solve this problem an optional simple text feedback is implemented. It can be used together with a returned document or as an alternative. The feedback is displayed directly in the task GUI, the participant must not download the document to see the comment.
