The idea is to integrate external videos in OpenOLAT via the video learning resource to e.g. show them in the Videotube. All settings and configurations of the video learning resource like chapters, annotations or quizzes shall then possible for the embedded external video. The video file itself on the external source will not be changed.
The video learning resource acts as a metadata container and allows authors to enrich their video with the quizzes and embed the video in the courses.
A thumbnail of the video should be shown if possible.
The external source can be a video streaming or file server server that delivers mp4 streams / files without any sort of protection.
Portal like Youtube/Vimeo might be supported as well, but only if possible at reasonable cost. Some functions like quizzes might not work properly as those have their own player and might not send all events.
