QTI 2.1. add word count and amount of words in essay

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

When editing the question type Essay, a minimum and a maximum number of words can be defined. These numbers should be visible for the user as well.

If a user writes the essay, it is not visible how many words have already been written. With save it's shown if you're in the range of min and max, but not how many words are written.

      Solution:

      • Add a word counter to the essay, which updates directly, so the user is able to see the number of words he/she already wrote constantly.
      • If a minimum / maximum word limit is configured, display it in brackets behind the word counter.
      • Beautifying for other information: repositioning of Autosave and Copy/Paste hint. If a placeholder is specified, the copy/paste information is displayed behind it.
      • To round it all off, display the final word count of the user in the correction workflow to support the grader.
